works to word converter for mac

I am switching from PC to Mac. I have a Mac Book with MS Office 2004
for Mac installed on the Mac Book. On an external drive I have a
multitude of doccument files created in MS Works 4.5 stored as wps
files. Is there a downloadable converter file that works on Mac's
that will allow me to open the files with MS Office 2004 for Mac's

The only translator I know of is Dataviz' MacLinkPlus Deluxe. It's
pretty pricy but it's always done an outstanding job for me...
