Works7 upgrade to office XP 2002

Hi,

Is it possible to upgrade MS Works 7 to MS Office XP 2002 without
uninstalling Works 7 first? One last thing MS Works has a useful calendar
application which I don't think Office XP has, is the calendar program
available as a standalone product which I can download or does Office XP
have an calendar add-on available?

Works 7 cannot be upgraded to Office XP as it isn't a valid upgrade path. I
hope you've not bought an upgrade thinking it can. Outlook has a calendar -
whether it's anything like the Works calendar, I cannot say as I've never
used Works.

Thanks for the reply. I've purchased Office XP Pro 2002 (full product) and
so just needed to know if Works 7 needed to be removed first or if I can
install straight over the top of it. Think I'll remove works 7 to be on the
safe side now though. Yes I've seen the calendar in Outlook, its sort of
similar and actually is quite a good alternative, pity its tied into Outlook
though.

You do not need to uninstall Works 7 prior to installing Office XP. The
will coexist together with no problem expect possibly with Word. If you
have the Works 7 suite, IMO you should uninstall Word that came with the
suite prior to installing Office XP.

If you have Windows XP or Windows 2000 SP3 and can return the full version
of Office XP, you should consider Office 2003 upgrade. Works 7 is a
qualifying product any Office 2003 retail upgrade editions.
