The wife works for a tax-exempt organization that is looking to recoup the
sales tax they pay on fuel.
In it's ultimate wisdom, the state has made this as difficult as possible,
requiring TEO's to first find
the price per gallon in a chart and them subtracting their calculated sales
tax per gallon based on
the rate for that particular county. The state's chart looks something like
this:
Sales Tax Rate | Sales tax per gallon
202.7-203.9 15.3
I'm assuming they mean a price of $2.027-2.039 qualifies for a recovery of
$0.153 per gallon.
She presently has something that looks like so:
gallons | total fuel purchase | price per gallon |
She needs to add the tax recovery per gallon to that header to finish this
puppy up.
Anyway, I'm wondering if there is any way to make a lookup chart and
transfer all of the state
figures into it, and then have the column with the actual price per gallon
paid go to that chart and
lookup and insert that figure into another column to complete the
calculation process?
Don't know the first thing about lookups and if ranges are even permitted,
but if you can explain
it like you would to a 12-year old she or I might be able to figure it out.
Thanks
