worksheet shifts to upper left hand cornerwhen I am entering data into a cell

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Processor: Intel

When I am entering data into a cell, the worksheet shifts back to the upper left hand corner. When I then hit return, it shifts back to the location of the cell. How can I keep the worksheet in the location where the cell is?

First of all confirm that both Office (12.2.1) and OS X (10.6.1) are fully
updated. It's pointless to chase symptoms if not & the updates may actually
correct the behavior. If not, reply with any additional details you can
supply such as:

One sheet or all sheets, one workbook or all workbooks?
New files you create or one from another source... if another source
identify it.
