Worksheet size of two documents

Hi all,

I have an excel sheet for entering some collections information. Each day I
will create a new file from the previous day file. There will not be any
changes in the format or sheet row/column at all, but the size of the file
keeps on growing. I don't know why. Can anyone help me out on this. Is
there any tool to defrag or compact the excel worksheet.

Hard to say why your workbook is growing but have a look at Debra
Dalgleish's site for possible fix and re-size.

Thanks Gord. My main concern is not the size of the file. Whenever it
starts growing the sheet becomes very slow to respond. When i type something
in a cell and press enter, it hangs there for a minute or two. How do I
rectify it or is there any file repairing tool in Excel 2007. I think in XP
we had an option to open the file in repair mode.

What is the process used to create a new file from previous day's file?

As far as Repair goes..........You could run diagnostics and see what
happens.
