Workspace disappeared

Leonard Kim

I have v. 3.1. While in the middle of working in a workspace, the workspace
disappeared. It kicked me out, and on the launchbar, the workspace is now
listed as "Not on this computer." When I tried to get the workspace from
another computer, it says "Unable to fetch [workspace]." Any suggestions?
It seems likely the workspace still resides on my computer somewhere. Thanks.

Hi Leonard,

Based on my experience and research, there are the following possible
reasons can lead to this kind of problem:

1. The Manager of the workspace un-invited you by mistake.
2. A certain member in that workspace has deleted it by mistake by
selecting "Delete from all computers".
3. If you are the only member in the workspace, the most possible reason
is that
the workspace is corrupt.

First, I would like to explain that if the workspace is corrupt or completely
deleted from all the members' account, we will not be able to retrieve the
data
from it. However, you can refer to the following information to see whether
we can restore it:

-------If the Manager of the workspace has un-invited you by mistake, please
contact him/her to re-invite you to that workspace.

-------If the workspace is deleted by a certain member by mistake, please
refer to
the following ways to recover it:

· If it is a Groove File Sharing space, any data deleted would be treated as
a
normal file recognized by the OS and sent to the Recycle Bin. Therefore,
please go
to the Recycle Bin to see whether we can find the deleted workspace. If so,
please
restore it and re-Sync this folder as a File Sharing space.

· If it is a Standard Workspace, deleted data would not be sent to the
Recycle Bin
as it is not sitting on the hard drive as a normal file and would not be
recoverable. In this instance the only chance that deleted data could be
recovered
is if you had a Member that has not logged in to receive the delete command.
If
this were the case you could bring this Member up offline and archive the
space as
a backup file. Archiving would be the choice because as soon as this user
goes back
online, they will receive the delete deltas and the space will be updated.
Then,
let the Member work online and share the workspace again. Re-invite you and
the
other members to that Groove File Sharing space. Is this issue resolved?

-------If the workspace is corrupt, I'm afraid that there is no way to
recover the
workspace. We need to create a new workspace.

Hope the information above can help you recover the lost data.

Hi Leonard,

My suggestions for this problem:
1. It seems like the workspace is corrupt on your computer or deleted by
another member in the workspace. So first you should make sure if the
workspace manager deleted this workspace on every computer.

2. If the workspace has been deleted by workspace manager, we may unable to
fetch it from anywhere.

3. If the workspace only disappearred on your computer, you can ask the
workspace manager uninvite you and then invite you back to the workspace as a
solution.
