I have a few folders I use groove to share between my desktop and my
laptop.. very handy until now. I left my laptop off for about 3 weeks,
and when it came back on it wouldn't copy over some files I had added.
It created the *.gfs files but just sat there for at least several
days 'waiting' to download it. (and it was set to download every file
automatically.
I read that leaving a computer off for 3 weeks could cause problems,
so I used the grooveclean.exe to get rid of all the previous settings,
and I reduced th size of the shared folder by a large margin in case
that was the issue. I saved my account, opened it up on the laptop,
downloaded, chose a folder to put the 'workspace' and 3 tries have
resulted in it just loading a bunch of *.gfs files and not downloading
anything even though 'full automatic download' is turned on. When I
double click a gfs file and say I want to download it, it just sits
there forever 'locating file...' and never seems to find it.
This has gotten really frustrating as I've been working on trying to
fix this for the last 2 days in between working. Any idea on what the
problem might be? should I just reinstall office on my laptop? will
that even work? is there a good alternative to groove for synching
folders between lap and desktop?
