Worrisit ?

hairpuller

These (attached screengrab) marks have recently appeared in Word 200
and I cant get rid of them, dammit ? They are in old documents or ne
documents so it is am overall setting, i.e. not document specific.

I have no idea how they appeared but it was fairly recent. It migh
have something to do with installing Asian character support as that i
something I installed recently. I can't remember if they appeared jus
after or some time after that.

The really annoying paper clip thingy is no help whatsoever, nor is th
help search as I can't find anything in any sort of guide reference.

They show the page margins which is really annoying at the moment as
am doing a web site that requires me doing screengrabs of parts of wor
pages.

I get the dangblasted things every time I run word. I have looke
through every menu, display and otherwise, but can find no reference t
them or way of switching them off. Even my very expensive MS Offic
book has no mention of 'margin' ? guides.

Please help while I still have some hair left to pull

It's the Asian Language Support that has caused them to appear. To get rid
of them, you will have to uninstall that support.

If you'll look back through the previous posts, you'll see that thi
does have to do with the Asian character support. I'm not sure if yo
still need that, as it seems to me it has to be removed. When
removed the Asian language support, the marks went away

If you were using something other than WordForums to access the newsgroup,
you would have seen the answer posted.

As Dayo Mitchell puts it:
Please note that WordForums.com is a very inefficient way to access these
newsgroups. It is not an independent, self-sufficient website, but simply
piggybacks onto public, international newsgroups. It mirrors the Microsoft
public news server, and mirrors it slowly at that. Your questions show up on
the server hours after you post them, and it seems the answers show up back
at the site late. The majority of the people who may respond to your
question are not using the site.

See here for some suggestions on other ways to access the newsgroups,
including how to find the best VBA group for you.
