Would be nice - Subtract Area

Under INSERT
The Add Space feature is great -- but if using it in between existing
text or graphics, it is hard to initially judge how much space will be
needed. So creating a second feature called Subtract Space would be helpful.
By creating the subtracting space feature, the author would not have to move
all the items under the added space section up, once the space that had been
added was filled. This is for authors who like a nice and tidy workspace.

The feature is already there ;-)
It's "Add space" but using the "Alt"-key with it.

The Alt-Key isn't necessary. Just place the pen at the bottom of the
free space and then move up ! It's artificial intelligence ;-)

Thanks for correcting Me. Don't know why but always used it with the
Alt-key.
One learns day by day ;-)
