.WPS File

I hope someone can help me.

I have received a file via OE that has a .wps extension, I tried to open it
in Word ( Office XP) and was told that I need to install the converter,
inserted the XP Office CD and apparently installed that, but I still cannot
open the file as all I get is those square box things and nothing legible.

I have also tried changing it to .doc, .rtf, text. pdf but none of those
seem to work for me.

Any suggestions please??

..wks is a Microsoft Works file... do you know what version of Works was
used to create the file that was sent to you? The converter supplied
with Word XP will import Works 2000 files. If you need the older Works
6.0 converter, see
