Write a formula for a penalty for status of TRUE?

Need to write a formula in column H for a penalty of $50 for the customer
that has a fixed penalty status of TRUE and $) for all others

Assuming "$)" means "$0", try:
=if(a1="TRUE",50,0)

Adjust the range to suit.

But you need to be careful as to whether it is a text string, or the boolean
value TRUE.
The double quotes make a difference.

I know. That's why I proposed this solution. Given the skill level of the
OP, I believe he's looking for "TRUE" rather than TRUE.
