writing exponents and powers the correct way in word 07

I would like to be able to express the power of ten next to a whole number
just like you do when you write it on paper. (Scientific Notation) The way I
see everyone else doing it is not the correct way and complicates how the
number is supposed to be written. It should not have the symbol ^ in it.
Anyway anyhelp would be appreciated. The same goes for writing equations.

Hi Oden,

In Word, you can easily format any text as a superscript. To do this as you
are typing, press Ctrl++ (the Ctrl key together with the Shift and = keys),
type the characters that you want to be superscripted, and then press
Ctrl+Space (the Ctrl key together with the spacebar) to return to the default
text style. If the text has already been typed, select it and press Ctrl++.
