Writing/replying font size

Is there not some way to force Entourage to use the font size I want? By
this I mean, someone sends me an e-mail with a very small font which I can
barely read. I've gone to preferences, turned off the selection whereby one
uses the same font as the sender, set my font size and it seems to
work...BUT once I hit reply, even if I've increased the font size, it goes
to the small size the sender formatted (I guess). At this point, it seems
the only way I can get the size to increase is to select the entire message
and increase it but that seems like a huge pain to have to go through every
time I want to send a message. Is there not some way to force Entourage to
believe me when I list the font and size I want to use or at least the size?

Oh, by the way, I've tried html on and html off--basically, I've spent
about an hour testing a reply using any and everything I can think of from
the various drop down menus which might--in my opinion--remotely be
connected with how a reply looks.

Thanks,
Tim

Nothing wrong with your posting. I have a related question. What lame PC
mail application sends the tiny font and how do we tell the user to fix
it? It does no good to ask them to send with a larger font. They can
change it so the outgoing message looks fine and when they send it
the PC changes it to send the small font.

You can only set YOUR preference for plain text. If they are sending HTML
there is nothing you can do other than select to increase text size or
switch it to plain text to view.

This article explains all about Plain Text vs HTML.

To find out what email client they are using, select the message. Then under
Message in the Menu bar select Internet Header. In the header it should give
you what they used to send. Not all mail clients provide this info.

Examples:

User-Agent: Microsoft-Entourage/12.25.0.100505
X-Mailer: Apple Mail (2.936)

BTW, if you select Source, you can view the entire message. This will allow
you to see urls and other info that are hidden in links.

I'll be darned, it's exactly the opposite of what I'd have thought. Maybe
that's the key...I think backwards. ;-) thanks again for the tip...works
great.
