Wrong format for new docs PLEASE HELP, I'm desperate

When I open a new doc in Word, it keeps making graphs. The only thing I want to do is word processing. How I made it into graphs I don't know. But I have to stop it. I'm doing everything in text edit, but--that's not what I need!

Can anyone help? I think I'm just a click or two away, but cannot find it in help.

Maybe Microsoft thinks I'm a stupid search word chooser. Or maybe I am. After 15 years online. Still???

Hello Miz_B;

In order to get a handle on this you'll need to provide a more specific &
detailed description of what's actually happening. I "think" it is something
that can be easily corrected, but this isn't a typical situation that's been
previously reported & we can't see what's occurring on your screen, so give
us the step-by-step instant replay :)

For example: Does "keeps making graphs" mean that each time you create a new
document it contains a graph *or* that when the new document appears the
program starts to generate graph after graph after graph as an ongoing
process? That distinction is critical, so how you word your description
makes a big difference as to what the problem & solution may be.

Also, include your exact version (#.#.#) of both Office & OS X.

In the mean time launch Word while holding the Shift key & see if there is
any difference. Provide complete details on what happens.
