wrongs in word indexing

Word index items with wrong pages when you index a document with fields.
word most update fields before resetting the page breaks.
word also most do the same thing when some indexing by using RD field in
another document.

I can follow Help instructions to create an index right up until I want to
display the finished index. I am writing a non-fiction book and need to
index it.

Did you reach the point of going to Insert/Reference/Index and Tables?
If you have then what specifically are you having difficultly with?
You should be able to select an Index format and click OK to insert
the index.
