WSS: can't link project tasks

M

Mark Byington

I can create an Issue or Risk, assign to a resource, etc. but when I try to
link to a project task, I get a dialogue box whose heading is "undefined --
Web page dialogue"...the other areas are 'grayed out' and in the area where
the tasks should appear, the message is: "There are no tasks available", then
the explanation:

"Either the project has not been published to Project Server, or you do not
have permissions to view the tasks in Project Web Access".

The project HAS been published and I'm an administrator...

I obviously don't have something set up correctly.

Has anyone run accross this?

Thanks...

Hi Mark,

One you might want to check (although i do have to say it doesn't sound
as if this is your problem) is the setting under Admin --> Server
Configuration --> Server Intranet URL. This should point to your
Project Server install eg http://servername/projectserver

That was it...this is in my test environment...and it was pointing to
production. The instructions are confusing...the example given is simply
"(for example: http://servername)" and should be fully qualified URL address
name.

Thanks for the help.

Had the same problem ... servername is case sensitive! Thanks for the post
and response Mark and Nico!
