WSS New Template Errors

Hi,
I have created a new WSS template for project server. I have uploaded it
successfully; however I am getting 3 errors I haven't seen before.

1: When I try to manually create a site using the new template I get “error
occurred when creating site. Site does not seem to exist. XML document must
have a top level elementâ€
However when you click ok the site is created using the new template.

2: When I try to synchronise a new Template created site to Project server
through the admin section of PWA I get “failed to synchronise users between
project Server and the selected windows SharePoint services site. XML
document must have a top level elementâ€

3: When I try to create a new risk or issue on a site where the template has
been used I get “Cannot obtain WSS item tp_ID†it does create the issue /
risk but when you look at the project centre of PWA there are no issue / risk
links next to the project name.

Can you help me please????????????

Another poster had this problem and it had to do with a mismatch between language settings on WSS and the installation of project server I believe. If you do a search on this NG for your error message text you should be able to find a recent thread with a reference to the Microsoft knowledgbase article number - where you'll find info about the problem and hopefully a resolution.

Thanks for that.
I found the problem as you said.
I had changed the default language and that particular language was not
installed. I had to go in and install the required language patch. All is
working fine now.

As this is unclear to me, could you spell out which language settings were
involved here (OS?; WSS version?; Project Server version? etc.) and where
you set them.

One of the things I'm confused about is whether you were installing
non-English versions of the software or whether you had English versions of
all the software (OS; WSS; ProjServ) and then were setting the language in
one of more of them to something else.

Juhani,
The default language on P/Svr is English (US) however being from Australia
we proefer English (AU) the only difference is the date format.
The problem was that there is only one version of the language pack for
english.
The go around for this is to change the scripting in one of teh files and
this sets the country to AUS. which fixes the problem.
