WSS Template how to

HI - MSPS 2007 SP1, Infrastructure Update and October updates

I am wanting to create a template for the SharePoint sites to be used with
projects. I understand how to create the template, but what do I need to do
so that when a project is published (which we have set to create a WSS), it
will use the new template I created?

Thanks in advance!

Hi
This is a SharePoint question, but will reply anyways.
I hope you have created the template based on a Project Workspace Template.

You will then need to run the following command:

stsadm.exe -o addtemplate -filename <location of new template file> -title
<Name of new Template>

This will need to be run on the server where SharePoint Central Admin is
installed and run from where stsadm.exe is located on the server.

You will need to be logged in as Administrator on the server to do this

After this you will need to restart the iis.

Then you will need log in back into Project Web access Server and select the
New Template that should appear in the drop down list. I am guessing you know
how to do that.

Hope this helps

Hi Gordon,

Thanks for the quick reply. I thoughts since it was in conjunction with
Project I should post here, thanks for the clarification.

Thanks for the posting of the command. I had seen that in previous posts,
but didn't understand what that was doing since most were old and related to
2.0. I do understand how to select the template on the server.

Thanks again!

You welcome,
Although it is primarily a SharePoint question it is very much applicable to
Project Server since it uses SharePoint.

Hope this helps.
