WSS template modifications.

Hi Guys,

i am planning to modify the wss template for the project server to
accomodate our organizational needs, I am planning to add some more
statusses in the issue creation section (like fixed, Cannot reproduce etc).

I was wondering if it is possible to see those extra status in the Issue
Summary view of pwa ?, or if some workaround is available for that...

You apply you own template to sharepoint. Using stsadmin.exe

Only issue it applying the new templates will just apply on new projects
that are created not to old projects.

I was able to add the new statusses to the temaplate, and apply the
template to the project server. It is createting new sites with the new
template now.

Iam wondering if there is any way where i can change the 'Issues Summary
view for all projects' ( the view where I can see the issue statistics
acrosss projects) . The current view only shows statistics of the
default statusses (active, postponed closed)

Ashish,

Are you talking about reports feature in sharepoint or you want to create
new view for sharepoint. If reports than you cannot change the reports.

I guess what I am wondering is how do you modify an existing WSS template
which holds the original setup for Issues, Risks, etc ...

I know this is held in an *.stp file and stored on the server, but do not
know how to point to it/access it via PWA to amend the setup for Issues,
Risks, etc ...

Hi Ashish,

The 'Issues Summary view for all projects' or any other Issues or Risks
summary views in PWA cannot be quickly created or modified as lets say
in, Project Views under Admin.

Now having said that, you must remember that anything in PWA can be
created and/or modified if you have right the resources. (ASP developer,
time and money) I guess you have to decided if the changes are worth it.

I actually tried this in the previous version (STS). It has been awhile, so
I don't recall which part I couldn't get to work; but it was either the
headings or the counts.
I finally called MS tech support, and come to find out that part is not
accassible period. So we dropped the idea of modifing that screen/page.
