WSS Template

We have created a new default template for the WSS sites created by MS
Project Server and have successfully implemented it.
However, in the template, we add several users with contributor permissions,
and a nt authenticated users group as readers, and these users/permissions
are not being applied to the sites that are being created from this new WSS
template. All of the other changes we made are being successfully applied to
the new sites. Does anyone have any ideas as to why these are not being
copied to the new sites when everything else is?

Hi Renee,

I am trying to do the same thing I believe. For example, to take a Project
Charter template in Microsoft Word and make it a form? Did you have to do
this at the WSS level on Project Server or did you do this through PWA?

Renee:

I don't believe users rights can be embedded in site templates, these are
created during provisioning. Rather than trying to apply this at the site
template level, you can easily accomplish this using group permissions in
Project Web Access. For instance, all you really have to do to give someone
Executive Group membership to grant them read access to your project
workspaces. If the executive group is a bit too broad for your needs, then
base a custom group on it and redact as necessary.
