wss upgrade to sharepoint portal server

I have test deployment of project server 2003 sp2a, SQL2k enterprise, and WSS
all on separate boxes. My team has decided to deploy other applications which
will need sharepoint portal server. Can I upgrade the project server install
to use sharepoint portal server? Can the box running wss be upgraded in place
to portal server? Thx

SharePoint Services and SharePoint Portal Server
are two different products. Leave the default
install of SharePoint alone. Just connect the
new install of SharePoint Portal.

So, can you install SharePoint Portal Server
on the same server running MS Project Server
with SharePoint Services?

No. Put the Portal on another server.

Can you try? Sure, go ahead; BUT try it on
a TEST system that has the same configuration
as your live Production system. Never install
software you never have installed
(or a new combination of software) on a live
system!!!
