WSSWIZ restart notice sticks in loop

Ken M.

Howdy, I'm running the WSSWIZ to install the templates
and it says it will Now close and restart but I can't get
past the OK msg box. It sticks, like in a loop and won't
finish its duties.

Got clues?

Thanks in advance,

KenM.

Project Server 2003

View products that this article applies to.
SYMPTOMS
When you start Microsoft Office Project Server 2003, the
WSSWiz.exe file stops responding and you receive an error
message that is similar to the following:

Application has generated an exception that could not be
handled. Process id=0xbf4 (3060), Thread id=0x174 (372).
Click OK to terminate the application. Click CANCEL to
debug the application.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, do not run the WSSWiz.exe file
directly. Instead use the Autorun program. To do this,
follow these steps:
Insert the Project Server 2003 CD.
Click the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services link, and
then click the Windows SharePoint Services Configuration
Wizard link.

This link runs the WSSWiz.exe file but before doing so
checks to see if Windows SharePoint Services is installed.
Note Windows SharePoint Services must be installed before
you run the WSSWiz.exe file.
