Seriously, once again I cannot 'connect' to Outlook.
Outlook is not a mail server. It is not listening on a port to accept
inbound connections. Outlook is an e-mail client. So just did you
intend to mean with "cannot connect", especially since "connect" was
single-quoted to convey some special meaning that only you know?
I've tried 'repairing'
Outlook Connector in the add/remove programs, and I've also tried this:
outlook.exe /resetnavpane in start/run. Still nothing.
Oh, we're supposed to guess by your use of the Outlook Connector add-in
that you are trying to have Outlook connect to a Live Hotmail account
while using HTTP/Deltasync versus POP?
This happened a few
months ago when they did an update. Any suggestions?
Got the latest version of the add-in installed? How about showing *us*
the error message when Outlook attempts to connect to your Hotmail
server? Have you even tried using the webmail interface to your Hotmail
account to make sure you are using the correct login credentials?
I have a suggestion for Microsoft. If it's absolutely necessary to do these
updates, knowing full well you're goign to F up everyone's email, how bout
sending a message to us informing us of what is about to happen, and how to
fix it? Or is that asking too much?
Yes, because Microsoft won't know how its customers have farked over or
their software environment and misconfigured their software.
--- Posting Hints ---
ALWAYS REVIEW your message before submitting it. You want someone OTHER
than yourself to understand your post. Also remember that no one here
is looking over your shoulder to see at what you are pointing. If you
don't well explain your situation by providing the details that you
already know, don't expect others to know what is your situation.
Explain YOUR computing environment and just what actions you take to
reproduce the problem.
Often you get just one chance per potential respondent to elicit a reply
from them. If they skip your post because you gave them nothing to go
on (no details, no versions, no OS, no context) then they will usually
move on to the next post and never return to yours.
