x axis label alignment

When I change the orientation of my X-axis values in an X-Y figure they disappear. There is no degree of orientation - other than 0 - where the value shows up.

When I try this on a Windows machine it works. When I bring the windows version of the file into the Mac they disappear again.

Yup, this is an XL04 bug. There aren't any convenient workarounds that I
know, and it won't be fixed.

I have used textboxes to good effect. It's labor intensive, and I've
usually used macros to do it.
