x axis marker ???

I don't know what to call this, but here is what I need:
I have a trend line and I need to determine where it crosses zero. I want a
vertical marker where the trend line crosses zero so I can determine the
value of other parameters at that point along the X axis. In my mind's eye,
I put the cursor on the point and tell the computer; "Draw a vertical marker
here and label it at the bottom as to the X axis value."

If I could do the same along the Y axis, that would be really cool

Thank you,

Hello Jon,
Thanks for your advice.
Those two operations (LINEST and your add line procedure) are rather
complicated for my needs. I think I can simplify my request.

I have an XY chart that shows angular position along the X axis and position
error on the Y axis. The line is not very smooth so I added a trend line.
When I move my cursor to some point on the position error line, I get a
little popup window that provides the X and Y coordinates for that point.
When I do this for the trendline, I only get the name of the line. I want
to know the X and Y coordinates of any given point along the trend line.
How can I do this?

Thank you,
Bryan
