xcel copy past

Has anyone else experienced a copy past problem in Excel?

It seems whenever I copy past into excel the colomns do not line up. ie
instead of all the names being pasted into the one column they may be
pasted the next (or more) columns over.
Does anyone have any suggestions as I am a new Mac user (G5)
