Yes. There is.
1) Copy your Normal.dot template to the Mac.
2) Close Word (Quit it, not minimise it, or it will overwrite your new
template when you Quit it).
3) Rename Normal template to Normal.old
4) Rename the PC copy of Normal.dot to Normal, and place it in the same
folder as the Mac version. (Due to a bug, Mac Word will not recognise a
Normal template that has any file extension, even the correct one).
5) Open Word and use File>Open to open your new Normal template.
6) Add and remove a space, then SAVE. This forces Mac Word to write the Mac
file type and creator codes into the file so it won't become confused in the
future.
"Some" of your macros will blow up because PC Word VBA is two levels ahead
of Mac Word VBA. Usually, you can simply edit the macros to remove the
offending commands and the rest of them will work fine. To find out, hop
into the VBA Editor and run Debug>Compile Normal. The VBA editor will stop
with a yellow highlight on any statement it doesn't like. Resolve each
error and keep at it until you get a clean compile, then Save.
This procedure will move your AutoText entries and your Formatted
Autocorrect entries. Your non-formatted Autocorrect items are in your
language-specific ACL file. It's probably quicker to re-create them than go
through the bother of attempting to back them off and restore them
Cheers
Is there a way to transfer all the macros and auto-text I've created in my
PC version of Word 2003 to Word on my Apple PowerBook?
