XL 2003 templates lose format in 2007

I have a bunch of XL 2003 templates that lose all formating when opened in
2007. They are Chart templates. For example: the bar charts must be in black
and white with various patterns, in 2007 it shows as solid colors - not good
for me. Why is this happening and how might I correct it?? Thanks.
