XL 2008 graphics dog

I have 2 spreadsheets, 1 about 14MB, the other about 29 MB. In each
is a chart which plots daily data from 1972 through 2005 for 3
different data sets. The chart worksheet takes about 45 seconds to
load.

If I open the spreadsheet in WinExcel 2003 (same machine in boot
camp), the graphs have no load time; i.e. they pop right up when you
click on the tab.

Any suggestions as to why it is slow on the Mac side?
