XL Icon in Windows 7

Petty problem - but really annoying me!

I'm setting up a new HP machine with Windows 7 Pro - 64 bit.

OEM installed Office.

Since Redmond saw fit to eliminate the Office shortcut bar (quick launch
bar), they say pin your often used programs to the Task Bar as a replacement
option.

When I do that, I get a *generic* icon (looks like a web page) in the Task
bar for Excel and Word.

If I pin them to the Desktop, I get the proper XL green "X" icon, Windows
still displays the generic icon.

Strangely enough, in the Start Menu, all the other programs display their
proper icons *except* XL and Word.

Could this be some sort of "mis -install" on HP's part.
Their support doesn't have the vaguest idea, that is, when they understand
my English.<bg>

I know this doesn't amount to much more then a hill of beans ... it just
bothers me when I see those 2 icons in the Task Bar that look exactly alike.

And when I go into "Properties", the "change icon" button is grayed out.

Has anyone else noticed anything similar.
