XLR File Association Error

After receiving a Microsoft Works file attachment of type "XLR" and initial
file association error on the first attempt to view the file within Outlook
Express ver 6, I saved the file to my hard drive and updated the folder
options to launch Microsoft Excel to open this "XLR" file type. OE 6 does
not seem to recognize the new file association, even though I can open the
file from the control panel. Any thoughts??

Try microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general. OE has no relation to Outlook.
