WHEN I ATTEMPT TO OPEN A FILE ENDING WITH .XLR I CANNOT READ IT, IT JUST HAS
XX AND SQUARES IN THE TEXT AND WHEN I TRY AND OPEN IT IN WINDOWS IT IS THE
SAME. HOW CAN I RESTORE THE FILE TO THE ORIGINAL. NOTE: I FIRST TYPED IT
IN EXEL.

That's probably because an .xlr file is not a Word document of any type. It
is a Works spreadsheet. Some versions of Excel may be able to open it;
otherwise, you need to open it in Works.
