.xls file

Hi all,
Today Excel began to play up. When I startthe program it returns the error
message - .xls file not found - it then goes on to say it may be in use on
another machine. If I get rid of the message Excel then opens fine. Excel
is installed on my C drive but I save most files on a remotes server. Any
ideas why the problem and how I may cure it?

Dear Friend,
Thank you for your kind reply. I will try this tomorrow at work. Excel at
home works fine so I am a little bemused. I appreciate your help.
