XML file deleted after import

I just started working with importing XML files into Access 2003. When I
imported my first file everything worked OK except Access DELETED my XML
file. I thought I was going nuts, so I rebuilt the file and imported it
again. Sure enough it was deleted again. What is going on? Thanks.

I've discovered that this only happens if the import file is in the C:\Temp
folder. If the file is in another folder, it isn't deleted. However, if a
copy of the file is in both the C:\Temp folder and in another folder and I
import it from the other folder, the file is still deleted from the C:\Temp
folder (even though that is not where it was imported from). Can someone
else try this out and see if you can reproduce the same results? Thanks.

This is by design. c:\temp is for the temporary storage of files. As soon
as an app is done with the files in that folder they can and will be deleted.
If files were left there the disk would quickly fill up.

The solution is to put the xml file in the folder you want to keep it in.
