.xnk Files

I've done this before, but now I can't make it work. I need to provide an
Outlook folder to a coworker. I copied the folder into an email message and
it saved the attachment as an .xnk file. I emailed the .xnk file to her, and
when she double clicks on the attachment she has two choices: Open or Save.
Open provides an error message and save just saves the .xnk file. I'd like
for her to be able to take a copy of all the emails in my folder. I think
I'm missing something to do with permissions on my end. Help?

Create a new PST, copy the folder to that PST, close the PST, close and
restart Outlook,, mail the PST you created.

Thanks so much, Brian. Will my coworker be able to open the .pst file and
save all of the emails to her own mailbox? Are there any extra steps
involved in this process on her end? Is .xnk not working properly any more?

If she is also using Outlook, she can connect to the pst-file by File->
Open-> Outlook Data File... after she has saved the pst-file to her own hard
disk.

xnk-files are only links to folders. If you save the mail items to a Public
Folder you both have access to, then you can save the items there and send
her an xnk-file to the folder.

Depending on your version and patch level of Outlook, you might need to
re-enable the function of using xnk-files directly.
