XP PRO 2 YRS, BEING FORCED TO RENEW INTRNET DOWNLOAD MANGR. SOS!

Please help! Internet Download Manager has disappeared after two years of
owning XP Pro and Windows 2003. Now unable to download e-mail attachments or
anything. Have never had this problem on any computer before.

Is this genuine Microsoft or some third party scam - saying Trial Period is
over and I must now register, etc.. AFter two years? Surely Int Download
Manager comes automatically with XP or Office 2003??

Thank you so much for replying. Am desperate! Never heard of these people -
never had their product so why should I renew it? They are apeing Microsoft
format - blue message with dark blue line at top. I cannot even open an
email attachment any longer. This started, like a trojan or virus or
something, a few days ago. What part of my computer controls downloading or
reading attachments? Is it WINDOWS XP PRO or is it Office 2003? In other
words, can I get into that part and see if they have managed to block
something off that prevents downloads?

It comes up like a cookie when I try to open somthing or download but I
have cookies blocked, so.

PS Joe. Sorry to bother you again. Discovered they are called RegNow and, as
you say, nothing to do with Microsoft but how did they get their damned virus
into my computer!?

It got on your PC as a result of a 'user' installing it, probably as a
result of clicking 'ok' in response to what they thought was an 'official'
msg
