i recently upgraded my client's laptop from Windows ME to
XP Professional.
i didnt, however, uninstall Office 95 before i did the
upgrade, and consequently it appears that Windows XP
believes it's got Office XP Prof and keeps asking at
startup for the Office XP Prof CD so that it can complete
installation of FrontPage (which my client never had,
because she had Office 97).
Feeding it the old Office 95 cd isnt doing anything
because it's looking for the Office XP Prof CD.
Uninstalling seems to be impossible because... get this:
I need to provide the Office XP Prof CD (again, we never
had it to begin with...)
I'm ready to do some manual folder deleting, purchase
Norton SystemWorks to fix the registry mess that'll
create, and then reinstall Office 95 to get us back to
square one.
Any other suggestions?
