XP SBE Update fails

When running SP2 from the update site, the process
appears to go normally but completes with "Installation
Unsuccessful", no other explanation or error code.
Having downloaded the pack and tried a manual install, it
fails to find the office CD, even though it is in the
(correct) drive, and can be opened from My Computer.
Anybody got any ideas other than a comlete reinstall of
Windows XP? SP1 installed this morning with no problem

Are you able to run the Office XP apps?

You can check the log files for MS Office for more
details on the problems by using Start=>Run and typing
%TEMP%
to be in the folder where the log files are created
(one for each setup attempt)
