XP service pack 1 download problem

I'm trying to download drivers to use a mobile phone cable through a usb
connection on my pc. Operating system is windows xp professional. Mobile
phone cable driver is a nokia dku-2. The installation wizard throws up an
error message box with "severe" at the top and it says, "Service pack 1 or
later must be installed on the target machine".

I tired downloading service pack 1 from the microsoft download page and
after the download time a message said something like 'the requested
components were not found'. On the microsoft download page there's lots of
service pack 1 downloads - don't know if I've chosen the wrong one to
download. Can anyone help / advise?

Because the message appeared when you were installing a driver, the
reference is likely to Service Pack 1 for Windows XP. Suggest you visit
Windows Update to get the correct updates. Service Pack 2 {which includes
Service Pack 1} is likely what you need.
