Greetings,
I have XP with service pack 2 installed. Also have Office 2003.

I keep getting an automatic update notification that there is a "critical
update for Office XP on Windows XP Service pack 2".

Should I ignore this or download it? If I should ignore it is there any way
to turn the damn thing off?

Thanks.
Don.

You can turn off automatic update in the Security Center but I would
not recommend it. Malware authors are too good at using security holes
to cause problems to your computer. I would also recommend installing
the critical update. It hasn't caused me any problems.

Thanks.
I would agree except please note that I have Office 2003 and the update
refers to Office XP. So a couple of follow-on questions:

1. Are Office XP updates also applicable to Office 2003?
2. If so; am I supposed to be aware of that fact?

Thanks,
Don.
