XP to VISTA Outlook

My Outlook will not launch because it says that it cannot access the pst
files. This is because I updated from XP Pro to VISTA Ultimate. They use
different paths for the pst files. I cannot access the proper folder because
it says I do not have permission. It is part of my XP Pro setup. It will not
let me change the default location of Outlook files because it says they are
either in use or I don't have permission. This is when I am logged into VISTA
trying to get Outlook 2007 to load. I already uninstalled Outlook, ran
Registry First Aid to clear anything left, and reinstalled it. Nothing seems
to work.

Hi there

Maybe you had your PST in a folder that you wouldn't have permissions for
except as an administrator, then when you upgraded to Vista this was enforced.

Try logging in to your Vista box as an administrator (or load Windows
Explorer as an administrator) and copy* the PST to a folder somewhere under
the c:\users\yourname folder structure. Then point Outlook to the new
location.

*I say copy, because if you move the file it may come across with
permissions from the other folder. Once you've verified it works from the
new location you can delete the old one.

If moving/copying the pst ensure you do not overwrite any existing, as doing
so will allmost certainly corrupt the pst, if required simply copy it to the
My Documents folder (or Vista equivelent)
