Hi,
Can an Access97 user read an Access application developed
by using Access XP version?

Thanks,

If you open an Access 97 database with Access 2002, you are ask to choose
between "Open" and "Convert". "Open" allows data entry, but you cannot
modify/create the objects (forms, reports, etc.) "Convert" creates a new mdb
file that A2002 can modify at will, but A97 cannot read.

If you need some Access 97 users and some Access 2002 users accessing the
same data at the same time, split the database. The tables will be in an
Access 97 mdb. The remaining objects (queries, forms, reports), will be in a
separate Access 97 mdb, with the tables linked. Then convert the A97 front
end, which generates a new A2002 front end (still linked to the A97 tables).
Give each A97 user a copy of the A97 front end, and each A2002 user a copy
of the A2002 front end.

No.

However, you can use Tools... Database Utilities... Convert to save
the database in A97 format. Of course any XP specific features will be
lost (conditional formatting for example).
