XP vs 2000

When I run office update it provides me with several required updates for XP
when my PC doesn't have XP on it. I have 2000. Do I install anyway?

MS Office XP contains Office 2002 series product apps.
Check in Add/Remove Programs to see if you have any
2002 products listed (such as MS Word 2002 from MS Works Suite).
If so, then the Office XP updates apply.

Thanks, you were correct, I am running 2002 not 2000.
