I got a new laptop that has an XP operating system. XP
powerpoint won't open any powerpoint files created on my
desktop computer that runs 98SE. When I attempt to open
these files with XP, I can see the opening slide as a
preview when I select it, but then as the
computer "attempts" to open these presentations, it just
freezes.
I then go to "end task" and it says the Powerpoint
program is not responding. When I end task, it asks me
if I want to report the problem. When I did report the
problem, I received a message that said there were no
solutions to the problem reported.
All of these powerpoint presentations run fine on Window
97, 98 & 2000. WHY WON'T XP open these files??? Has
anyone else had this problem???
