XP Word keep trying to install

After an upgrade of office 2000 to office XP, AND I try
to open word for use the installation start up and ends in
the
following error
error 1606 could not acess network location
%:lluserprofile%\application\data\Microsoft\officer\data

Also It will not allow to Repair\Remove\Install I always
get the error above.
