Xternal Emails-works but shouldn't?!

I have an end user who is able to send and receive external mail messages
outside of our employer. They only have a Microsoft Exchange account, no
POP3. I am wondering why they are able to send and receive external emails
when they are not set up for that? Outlook is version Outlook 2002 with
Windows XP. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have.

Do they have access to a web browser? Many email providers allow web access
to accounts.

Good afternoon. These user's do not have access to a web email account;
therefore they do not have access to their email from home. They have to use
Outlook here in the office. Is there a setting that could be allowing
external email to send and receive that you can think of? I appreciate your
quick response in trying to help me; this has been baffling.

Take a look at that users E-mail Accounts. See if one was set up that goes
directly to an outside POP and SMTP. Dispite the inclusion of Exchange,
Outlook would do a check on the external account, especially if the external
account was set to default.
