Hello,
For sometime, I have experienced a frustrating bug in Word. I may have also
seen it in other MS Office programs, but am not sure.
If I insert "Page Number" and "Number of Pages" fields into a Word to get
the common "Page X of Y" notation in the footer, it will appear correctly on
the screen, for example, "Page 7 or 28".
When I PRINT out the document, every page comes out as "Page X of X" rather
than "Page X of Y". For example, "Page 7 of 7" instead of "Page 7 of 28".
Page 8 will say "Page 8 of 8".
Sometimes, the anomaly will also appear in Print Preview mode, but then if I
scroll the screen up and down, it quickly disappears and looks correct.
However, when I print, it's ALWAYS wrong.
I've used this feature in Word for years without problems, but something
seems to have gotten fowled up in Office that is causing this for me now.
It's been happening for about a year, to my frustration. Everything else
about Office seems to work okay.
Can you help me figure this out?
