Yes/No in a combobox wierdness

ACC2003
The table has a yes/no field with checkbox. The query displays that field
with a checkbox. The form has a combo box with that query as a RowSource,
Column Heads Yes, but displays that field as -1/0.

Now hear's the wierd part: two PCs, same install of Access 2003, running the
same mdb--mine shows that form combo's field as -1/0, the other shows the
SAME form combo's field as Yes/No (I wish mine did that).

It must be something in my Preferences, right? Where?

In the table, does the field's Format property (on the lower panel)
indicate Yes/No format? (I'm not talking about the field's Yes/No
datatype in the upper panel).

I don't know about a preference, but you can set the combo
box's Format property to Yes/No so everyone sees the same
thing.

Fred, in the Table the field's format is already set to Yes/No.

Marshall, the Format prop for the combo in the form is blank. I don't think
I want to have it's Format be Yes/No since the bound column is an ID number
from a different table. The checkbox field is displayed in the dropdown for
information only.

The real question is what is making my computer display this field at -1/0
and another computer displays a Yes/No? No?

More testing. . .

In the Table: The field's data type is Yes/No. The field's Format is Yes/No.
The field's Display Control value on the Lookup tab is Check Box.

In the Form: I changed the combo's Format property to Yes/No, but no change
to the way the droplist displays the field (on my machine at least).

Mocrosoft Office Service Pack 3 introduced several issues with display
of data in listboxes ancd comboboxes.

There is a bugfix patch available for these problems.

It sounds like either the SP or the bugfix is not consistently applied
to all your computers.

I had Office 2003 SP3 and installed the Post-SP3 hotfix from MS and, voila,
now the combo yes/no column displays yes and no, not -1 and 0.

I support about 400 co-workers, with dozens of MS-Access applications,
some used by 2 or 3 people, some by 200. Many are single user tools.

I've had so many of these formatting problems since SP-3 was released
via automatic update, that it's become a 'First Thing to check'
response.
