Yet another - "Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process..

K

KrisP

I've read all of the posts returned after entering the phrase "Microsoft Jet
database engine stopped the process...". None addressed my problem.

I have about a dozen users on an Access 2000 database that is stored on a
remote server. Each each user runs on Windows XP Pro. One of the users
(call her Mary) consistently gets that message but none of the others do;
other users do not get the message when they log onto Mary's computer and
Mary gets the message when she logs onto other users' computers. Mary has
even gotten the message at times when all of the other users' computers have
been turned off.

I've checked Mary's rights to the folder containing the database and she has
the same rights as other users.

Can someone help?

If (only) Mary's use of the application (front-end) is affected no matter
which copy (PC) she's working on, and there's no network settings excluding
her, process of elimination seems to point to the application itself.

Are there any internal macros or procedures that might try to determine the
network ID of the logged-on user?

Do you have roaming profiles, so Mary's settings are identical no matter
which computer she is using? If so, maybe there is some corruption in her
profile.
