Here's my list of things I would dearly love to see in a future release of
OneNote:
1) Better page formatting for inserted HTML. Better integration with IE so
I can just highlight and capture sections of (or entire) webpages.
2) A zoomable visual overview display for organizing notes, similar in
spirit to the Slide Sorter in PowerPoint.
3) Drag & Drop for everything, including Tabs, Page Listings
4) OLE Integration so we can use external objects/typesetting packages
5) Two (or more) rows of tabs display arranged hierarchically, e.g.,
folders on top, sections on bottom, etc.
6) Capture an entire window without having to manually clip it. Also,
clipping directly into current page (so it adds a timestamp)
7) I DO NOT want to be asked for permission to open my own file links. (In
fact, for some reason I get asked twice, which effectively makes file links
useless for me.)
8) Make the pen-dot cursor easier to find before drawing. On my hires
(1400x1050) laptop, it is nearly invisible. There are a number of other
icons that are simply too small on my display to be easily accessible, e.g.,
the one that adds more space at the bottom of a page.
